Speedy Wunderground signees Borough Council have shared their impressive new single, ‘Casino’. The track’s intro really sets the tone well, with their experimental, enigmatic sound coming across instantly. Completed by an instantly recognisable lead vocal, it shows off their dark, kinetic spin on lo-fi indie. “We wrote Casino a few weeks before the session, and it stayed unfinished up until then,” the band explain. “‘Cause the Speedy ethos is all about capturing a raw moment and the energy of the room, it made total sense for us to finish it on the spot with Dan.” ‘Casino’ was the track that got the band signed to the legendary label in the first place, this release makes sense as a statement of intent from the newcomers.
